HAHAHAAHHA......ah, dammit.

I was on the deck when people were saying "Obama is about to make his speech", I saw him walking up to the podium I heard The Imperial Death March playing, with the flags blowing in the background. I was stunned, I thought "Hell yes! That's AWESOME!"....then I realized it was the cell phone of my friend next to me.
Dammit, that would have been the coolest acceptance EVER!!!

Dustys World online radio is coming Back!!!!!!! We'll be broadcasting soon.

It's been a bit longer of a hiatus than we planned BUT........We have found a new home, http://localgoat.com/listen
You can also register on the site, I have, but I don't think you have to in order to listen.

We're trying to peg a start date but it should be within the next week or two. I'm going to go for a shameless plug here and ask that you pass this as far as you can, as it's a new station it would be nice to start off with a good number of people. ;)
Also, as they have been doing this awhile we shouldn't have the same problems we did in the past and they should be able to handle a high number of listeners.

We'll keep you updated further on myspace, here's the link to our show site on myspace as well as a full website on the way with chat again. ;)

Myspace - myspace.com/dustysworldonline

Web site (still in build) - dustysworldradio.com

We are looking at Monday nights at 8 and will have a start date for you soon, look for announcements here and from our Myspace account.

Again, we'll need a lot of listeners the first two shows, 1. to make us look good for the people giving us a new home, and 2. it'd be nice to have a good load test for this thing. ;)

Pass the word high and low, near and far.

Love to you all, and get your shot glasses ready.

P.S. I am listening to the site at work right now, and it is currently Drop Kick Murphy's, so far even the music is good.

No reason this post is on VD

Just thought I would post for a brief update. Had a lot of friends over this past weekend and it was great. As usual more connection happened Friday night and Sunday morning when less people were there but not taking away from the great time that was had Saturday.
I'm still at Yahoo, having so far survived the layoffs and the attempted buy out. Still about to search around a bit. I'm afraid there are very few challenges here and that's what drives me, but on the flip side, when I need time off it's really no big deal so I can work on out side projects.
Living with Carl and Tig is working out about like I would expect it. Carl and I already have a disposition to living in the same place and everyone is mellow enough to deal with the day to day stuff. Now if we can just get the cats to adapt as well.
6am cat fights, when you're sick, and wanting to sleep in....notsofun.
Going to try to work on some projects soon, Kat reminded me of one I was supposed to start on, that I will and post pics of.
Dusty's world is actually taking more steps forward. We're first getting the pod cast stuff set up so all old shows will be available, then we think we've even found a place to host the show itself. We have a few things that we need to set up, then we'll be running a test.
Outside of that, for everyone I saw, thank you, it was great. For everyone that couldn't make it you were missed. To everyone that it was my job to let know, well, I'm sorry, I'm rather dumb and rather mentally burnt as of late. I has no brain left.

Well I've really been waiting for someone to post about this.....

but I've not seen it, so you get it from me.

I'm so keeping up with this, though I doubt much more will be reported. See if you can guess how they will eventually get caught. ;)

Well why not a quick note

So it's been awhile since I've posted.

Still at Yahoo in Burbank. Several faires under our belts as Out Of Kontrol.

Current status is tired to my soul. We've got Labyrinth of Jareth coming up July 13th-14th, yup, two nights this year. So all you costumers this is the place you want to go to show off, be showed up, and come up with new ideas.

I am prop building like a mad man. My schedule is thus: Wake up, got to work, go to studio to carve till some time in the evening 10-11pm, go home, settle down, sleep....lather, rinse, repeat.

The latest creation has come out beautifully. Once the event has past I'll post pictures, or those of you going will see it there. By far, as tired as I am, this is rather fun and rewarding. It's nice to work on something of this grand of scale, then once done, back away and see what you've accomplished.

That's it for now. Want more info? Either wait for me to remember to post again, or drop me a line.

SIDENOTE: Leti, if you've not heard, a ruling was made on you regarding Buffalo, yes, even if you set the drink down to read the text...STILL COUNTS, take your shot you wuss. Love ya. ;)

Well that's one down

So, for those that didn't get it over myspace. Dusty and I have a radio show. K, well Dusty has a radio show he asked me to help with. We just got done with our ACTUAL first live broadcast. We saw just a few connections, not bad, eh, it's an internet radio show, it'll take a bit. HOWEVER. One of those broadcasts was to a gaming convention in Arizona. APPARENTLY, they had to pause the gaming due to people rolling on the floor laughing.
BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!
So, if you are curious, it's Dusty's World, Thursday's at 8, at www.herophont.com

NOW, it is still an improve thing, so don't always expect gold, this time we had a blast, who knows, next time may suck.
BUT, it I will say, D came up with a wonderful idea, and I really think he has something going here.

Love to all
RJ

PS. Sooooo drunk from the show right now. YAY

Mon, Nov. 6th, 2006, 06:56 am
FINALLY!!!!!!

Well, in just about an hour I head out to the first day of my new job with Yahoo. I'm taking over for Carl down here at the Burbank location, so YAY!!!!!
Slight problem is, I've had insomnia for more than a week, I thought that getting the job would cure that but maybe I'll need to work a day or two for it to sink fully in. I need a full nights sleep. Don't worry about suggestions, I'm just bitching at the moment, I have a few ways of MAKING myself sleep, I just prefer to find out why I'm having issues and go from there. Now, I don't care so much I just want the sleep. ;)

SO YAY ME!!!! I have a job.
YAY CARL!!!!! He got me a job.
And YAY SLEEP!!!!! Oh yes you little bitch, you will be mine, oh yes.

Much love to you all. :)

Well Howdy

So a quick update then a few thoughts.

Been running RAGGED since before Burning Man. Like 2 1/2 months before burning man. Since then it's been a constant travel during the weekends and weekdays even. Just hit Casa last weekend which was great. Exhaustion took the better part of me on Saturday, I slept for about 2 1/2 hours after faire was over, woke up and bs'ed with people in a sleepy state. Got to chat a bit with Greg and Wylie, which is fun I don't get to see as much of them as I would like. Greg and I live right across the street from each other and never see each other. It's as bad as how often I keep meaning to get together with Carl and I can't seem to find time for a beer (We WILL go for that beer soon dude). Plus, Archery was a kick. Had fun, got to see old friends and make closer friends with people I liked before. Archery being next to the stage was cool as well. Though it did mean we had to tone down our hawking, I got to see and hear kick ass acts. Got to see Nicole's dance and group and see her dance, SHE KICKS ASS, I love watching Irish dancing. Also have to give credit to her and her guy for cool ass hair.
Job wise, STILL having hell. Even had an interview where I know 2 people. They changed the position a bit during the interview. Instead of just helpdesk, they may be taking the guy they hired and move him into field service tech, so constant travel all over the country, possibly globe. That doesn't work for me, I have too many other projects outside of work, not to mention shows, friends and what nots. They hired the other guy, but if they make him the field tech, they'll bring me in for the desktop, so they say. With all the kicks to the teeth lately, I'm not holding my breath.
I'm trying to keep my head above water here, I KNOW, that I'll rock where ever I go. I learned too much at WebEx and I have too much drive not too. This isn't just hyping myself up, I really will be the best whatever position they put me in. However, it's getting a little difficult to remember that when I keep missing the jobs, by *that* much. Just a little extra knowledge, experience, whatever. I can't figure out how to convince them of that.
I was right in between at WebEx. Did desktop support, but also handled administrative and special projects. So when I go in for Administrator positions, I don't have exchange admin experience, so they go for someone else. When I go for desktop, they get worried, because they can't pay me what I had before, plus the job isn't as high level and are worried that I'll jump ship as soon as the higher job becomes available. I just want some place I can grow and learn in. I don't care about money, past being enough to live on. I will make a higher position for myself as I work there, it's what I do.
SHEESH. So now I keep going through my head about staying here, staying in the field I'm looking for, changing all of it.
No this wouldn't mean leaving Tig or anything like that, it's something we talk about as far as where we want to go next. However, I don't want to move just because things are hard. I like the possibilities here and the things to offer. I just wonder if it's the best fit. Maybe I should be somewhere else kind of thing. I can't really make those choices though, because I'm hitting the black cloud so my brain is not going to be un-bias. Where ever I go it will be soooo much easier, grass will be greener, or as my friend Glen says "The girls are always pretty, the sky is always blue and lobster is a 1.99 a lb."
Outside of that I've got faires coming up, b-days to go to, parties to hit and etc. The show is going glorious, I've heard nothing but compliments from people since SF Golden Gate faire. I can't WAIT for Kearney when OOK, Trey, and M&M do the Midevil Madness ending on Saturday. We had such a blast last year it's going to be a kick.
Anyway, there is the update, not all the best in my head but also having a good time so keeping my sanity.

Much love to all.

Thu, Aug. 17th, 2006, 10:51 am
Well it's been awhile

Nope, still no job. SHEESH. WebEx was good and bad for experience. I was in between an administrator and desktop support. So I haven't been a full administrator, so those jobs I'm not quite qualified, and they see my past pay and experience and don't want to hire me as desktop because they are afraid I'll leave as soon as a better offer comes up. Found a few junior admin jobs, they loved me, but there are people that come in with full server or switch knowledge compared to my partial and get the job.

HOWEVER, all is not lost and I am definitly not down. Burning Man is coming right around the corner. I've been building stuff for our camp, we have a GREAT group going. We also have Golden Gate faire coming up. WOO HOO. I get to hang out with Dismiss AND I heard from Kevin they have come up with a new game. Trey will be there so I get to harass him more, it's been too long since we got to hang out. Myth and Magic should be there as well, WOO HOO. Can't forget Tobias either, all these northern people that I don't get to see as we can't hit as many of the Northern faires as we used to. I can't wait to see them all.

ALSO, I'm not going to jinx it, but something cool may be coming down the pipeline as well and I may be auditioning for something very soon that I'm told I'm close to a shoe in for.

Tonight I head to Kims place till tomorrow, in order to get my hair ready for BM. I'm going to have to find one hell of a head wrap for SF as my hair will not even be close to period. Not dyeing it though.

Yeah, I'm in a great mood at the moment.

Request for pictures

I know that they are out there. SOMEWHERE. I would like photos from Faire Oaks of the Out Of Kontrol B-team. I've seen 3 and a small video but would like to see more.

Thank you, I go sleep now. Yes, I'm NOW going to bed.

BWWWAHAHAHAHHAHA

On the subject of my favorite spam subject lines. I couldn't resist this one. Granted it may have something to do with not being fully awake at the moment:

"You cum very quickly and without any control!"

I just get a picture of a guy trying to hold onto a fire hose.

Yeah, maybe I'm just sleepy.

Tue, Jun. 20th, 2006, 11:27 am

Well I will be at Faire Oaks and unless something truely amazing happens I will be the 1/4 OOK show. All three of the others have been called into work. NO KIDDING. All of them, have to work Saturday and in one case Sunday. GREAT JOY. Also was a fun e-mail to type up to the producer with 5 days till show time. GREAT way to make us look like proffesionals. Ah well, shite happens and all that.
Other than that 2 days down with food poisoning. NOT FUN. As mediacourtisan or however the hell she spells it, can tell you, as she got a full description yesterday. Ah, bless the IM client and its ability to convey imagery others may not want. ;) Now off to Shawns to build props for LOJ.

But first, being down for 2 days allowed my spam filter to fill up, while deleteing, these subject lines caught my eye:

this going to expolad
This is most modern and safe way not to cover with shame
test beg
Never her again shame in bed ways

I swear they use babblefish to translate to english.

So a quick update

Well, in about 2 hours I'm off to another job interview, this one for a manager position of a desktop team, of one. I honestly think I can do this job no problem, from the sounds of it, they are just at the begining of where WebEx was about 2-3 years ago. I've already gone through all the motions, the only thing I haven't been is a manger. That's probably the only thing that makes me nervous about this position, but we'll see.
Other than that, I've worked one weekend of Southern faire at Archery with Tig, then we'll be working again this Saturday. During the day and some weekends I've been helping Dale build the Rat Race booth for Corona faire which begins the weekend of Visalia. The booth looks amazing. The Rat Booth refers to Dale as their MacGuyver and it's a definite fit for a title. I've learned a whole lot helping him build this damn thing. It will easily be able to accomodate the dance party on the roof.
Faires coming up are this weekend Southern, then build at Corona on Sunday. Visalia the weekend after that, then Bakersfield then back to Corona, till the first weekend of June which we'll be performing at Valhalla then of course back to Corona faire. WEEEEEEEEEE
Outside of that, went to dinner with Carl the other night, then met up with two friends at a bar just down the street. Took me a minute to realize that I had been in the bar before as it was the bar we all met up at after the Doo Dah Parade for the past two years.
Other than that, things are going great. Tig and I haven't killed each other, the shows are taking off and there looks to be more interviews popping up from resumes I posted 2 months ago.
Talk at you all later and see some of you at faire.

Calavaras, cold but yielded a new trick

Here is the link. I'm too tired at the moment to do a good cut, but here are the links. First one, then click on the second. ;)

And yes, first try was on stage no practice as per normal.

Outside of that, lots of snow, rain, sleet and GREAT music. I had a blast.

Calavaras this weekend. -- Blankets in our hats will be almost better than dollars!!!

So at first I was a little disturbed by the rumors of showers all weekend. NOW I'm being told snow. GREAT. Ah well, at least my girl will be there to keep me warm. OH WAIT, no, she won't. I may be REALLY enjoying the fire portion of our shows this weekend. I can just imagine myself at 2am, rocking back and forth saying "Fire eating tomorrow, fire eating tomorrow."
I have a great trick idea but it's going to require a cale' (SP?) dancer. (the step dancing with the hard shoes right?), I had one in mind but apparently she is not going to be there this weekend so I'm going to have to make new friends. Need to find a fairly light weight dancer that's not squeemish. AND NO JOKES ABOUT TENT WARMERS THIS IS FOR THE SHOW!!!!! ;)

Hope to see a lot of you there, just so I know I'm not the only one dumb enough to be there.
